Pittsburgh Penguins skipper Sidney Crosby notched his 15th career hat-trick and added an assist to clinch a 5-2 triumph over the Columbus Blue Jackets Nationwide Arena. This game on Friday also recorded the Penguins’ fourth straight win in the ongoing season.

The Canadian ice hockey player, who was coming with a long-range empty netter, completed his career goals No. 494, 495, and 496 while his teammate Mike Matheson scored his fifth game-winning goal.

“It’s nice to get some rhythm and timing,” Crosby said. “We’ve got a lot of games coming up and hopefully we can work through and get better.”

Penguins’ current coach Mike Sullivan also leapt praises for the performance of his team’s players.

“I think we put Case in a tough spot tonight. He was just coming off COVID. Our intent was to get him a couple of practices to get more reps. Obviously, when Louie went down in the morning skate, it forced our hand,” Penguins interim head coach Mike Sullivan said.

“Casey’s played a lot of really good hockey for us and we know that the type of goalie that he is and what he’s capable of, and we’re going to work extremely hard to help Casey capture his best game.”
