The long history of the National Hockey League (NHL) has seen several players leave quite a mark on the sport. One of these legends is Alex Ovechkin. Popularly known as “The Great Eight”, he is regarded by many as one of the greatest goal scorers in the sport’s long history. Such a huge fandom has led to several fans and followers asking questions about where he actually lives.
Ovechkin is reported to live with his family in the huge mansion he purchased all the way back in 2012. After making his debut in the Russian Super League (RSL), the Russian international would spend three years in his homeland before flying across to the United States. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 2004-05 season and he has not looked back since.
Since then he has spent his entire career with the Capitals. On his way through a legendary career, Ovechkin has broken multiple records along the way. He is the second-highest goal scorer in the history of the NHL with 822 goals, just behind the “The Great One” Wayne Gretzky. A Stanley Cup champion in his own right, Ovechkin leads a happy marriage life.
He was initially engaged to former professional tennis player Maria Kirilenko. The two dated for a while but called off the marriage. Ovechkin later married Anastasia Shubskaya with whom he has two sons.

The 13-time NHL All-star is said to be happy with the property as there is no correct information regarding any other properties of his.

Ovechkin was born on September 17, 1985, in the Russian city of Moscow. He was perhaps destined to become a star athlete as both of his parents were renowned performers. Her mother Tatyana is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a great basketball player while his father Mikhail enjoyed success with football. Growing up with his two brothers, Alex Ovechkin was a huge sports fan.
His mother recalled how at the young age of just two, he picked up a hockey stick. She further added that he would drop everything and start watching hockey on television and would not allow anyone to change the channel. Following his school studies he joined the Dynamo Moscow sports group. When his parents were unable to take him for practice, his elder brother Sergei would take him. Ovechkin was a huge fan of another NHL great Mario Lemieux, whom he idolized.

This huge home is located in Virginia, McLean. “The Great Eight” is said to have shelled around $4.2 million dollars to get his hands on this. Well, this may come as a surprise to many as to why Ovechkin has not made any attempts to gather any more properties.
This gigantic mansion is spread across 11,00 square feet. The house includes five bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms. The luxurious property has fully modernized settings. It also comes up with a huge parking space with the interiors floored in brown color giving off vintage vibes. This property has a basement as well with fireplaces set up to enjoy warm weather.
Furthermore, the property includes a large kitchen with countertops. It also includes a huge spiral staircase, an enormous living room, a game room for entertainment and a exercise yard. This could be a reason why Ovechkin does not have any other properties as he has got all that he wanted in one place alone.
