Jade Cargill‘s injury was a major talking point coming out of this week’s SmackDown. The fuss intensified after she revealed an ugly-looking cut above her right eyelash via a couple of pictures on Instagram. The fans were nimble to realize that it was Nia Jax who sent ‘The Storm’ face first into the steel steps that caused the cut. As a result, they started dumping on her.
Jax came under the gun and was deemed an unsafe worker by the netizens, like she’s been called out in the past. As such, Chelsea Green has now come forward to defend ‘The Irresistible Force’. She replied to Baron Corbin dismissing an account on X calling for Triple H to orchestrate an on-screen wrestling burial of Jax and threaten to fire her if she disavowed.
The internet not knowing that Nia is one of the best is the biggest travesty. We’re lucky to have her as a locker room leader.

Green, in some major backing for the 41-year-old, said, “The internet not knowing that Nia is one of the best is the biggest travesty. We’re lucky to have her as a locker room leader.” ‘The Hot Mess’ didn’t hold herself back in putting over her colleague and supposedly a good friend of hers. However, the fans don’t seem to concur with the sentiment shared by the inaugural women’s US Champion.
Jax has yet to break silence on the noise around her name on social media. But since she’s currently a heel character on television, the Sydney-born wrestler could use the blame for Cargill’s injury to her advantage. It’d be interesting to see if WWE actually ends up going that route.
Has Jade Cargill not lived up to her hype?
The aforementioned match that saw Jade Cargill ending up getting busted open was an epic three-way contest where Tiffany Stratton defended the women’s title against the former AEW star and the woman that gave her that battle scar across the forehead—Nia Jax.

‘The Buff Barbie’ ended up retaining her gold after she pinned Jax with her Prettiest Moonsault Ever. While Cargill didn’t get her shoulders pinned to the mat, the fans are still wondering why WWE couldn’t pull the trigger on her. The Atlanta Smoke owner signed with WWE almost two years ago with the billing of one of the hottest free agents in the market.
But when it comes to how much of that hype has actually come to fruition, one is bound to feel underwhelmed by her report card. She’s yet to hold a singles title in WWE, though she has won the tag team gold with Bianca Belair to show something substantial against her name. Cargill made her WrestleMania singles debut this year, where she dispatched her fierce rival, Naomi.
They feuded past Mania until the ‘Queen of Glow’ climbed her way to the Money in the Bank contract and eventually became the women’s world champion. Cargill, on the other hand, found herself in title contention on SmackDown but has ultimately failed to get the job done.
Jade Cargill might benefit out of a Nia Jax feud
At this point, it’s unknown how many weeks of WWE programming Jade Cargill will be forced to miss after sustaining that gnarly cut to her forehead. However, if the Floridian gets her wound stitched with little to no on-screen hiatus, she could immediately hop into some big-time feud with Nia Jax.

It might do wonders for both the women, given the potential animosity arising out of what has transpired between them. Although they have met in singles matches on two occasions, the first one ended in a disqualification when Cargill smashed a steel chair across Jax’s back as the latter had talked some trash with the daughter of ‘The Storm’ at ringside.
Cargill couldn’t contain her anger and went berserk at the 2024 Queen of the Ring. The fans booed the ending of that match, as they wanted to see the two of them duke it out with each other. They went at it again on an episode of SmackDown in May 2025 with Jax winning but Naomi played a factor to distract Cargill. WWE now has the opportunity to set up Jax vs. Cargill on a much bigger scale sans shenanigans.
