Nia Jax hilariously breaks character on SmackDown (via WWE)
Despite being a dominant and intimating heel on WWE TV, Nia Jax knows how to let loose every once in a while. She is thought of as a wholesome and hilarious personality backstage and is not afraid to show this side of her to the crowd when the cameras are not rolling.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Jax teamed up with Tiffany Stratton to take on Bayley and Naomi in a tornado tag team match. During a commercial break, the former TNA Knockouts champion was lying against the turnbuckle. The Irresistible Force went up to her, turned around, and started twerking in her face while flailing her arms in the air.
Unfortunately, this banter did not work out well for the heel team. The babyfaces hit a 1D on Stratton to knock her out. Jax picked up the Role Model for a Samoan Drop. However, Naomi and Bayley stacked up the champion and beat her with a double pinfall.
Jax is popular for performing such gestures during WWE live events/house shows as well. Earlier this year, she performed a hilarious oversell when facing Liv Morgan at an event in Chattanooga. During the match, the Queen of Extreme tried to pull herself up by grabbing the ropes near the turnbuckle. Seeing this, the Samoan charged towards her.
However, the 30-year-old got out of the way just in time. This sent The Irresistible Force shoulder-first into the ring post, seemingly knocking her out. She continued to lay on her head, hanging by the ropes for a few minutes before finally recovering.
Nia Jax’s challenger for the WWE Women’s Championship at Bad Blood remains uncertain after being double-pinned by Bayley and Naomi
The tornado tag team match on the latest episode of SmackDown had an interesting stipulation. Whoever was able to grab the victory with a pinfall would face the WWE Women’s Champion for her title at Bad Blood. However, if they lost, the person eating the pin would have to leave the blue brand for good.
The babyfaces were able to outsmart Jax after securing their victory with a double pinfall. Match official Jessica Carr raised up both of their hands in confusion. This led fans to believe that the match at Bad Blood was likely going to be a triple threat.
However, SmackDown General Nick Aldis was having none of it. Instead, he booked a match between Bayley and Naomi next week to decide the #1 contender for the world title.
