The Super Bowl LVIII loss was hard to comprehend for the San Francisco 49ers players. They had dominated the entire first half and advanced to the NFC championship title, making the defeat even more difficult to accept.

Even though the Kansas City Chiefs picked up the pace from the second half, the Niners were still in the lead. If only they had known the overtime rule, the Vince Lambordini trophy might have been in their name. During the opening day of the training camp, star defensive end Nick Bosa– who was utterly shocked after the loss, recalled the Super Bowl game.

Bosa revealed how, for a fleeting moment during the Super Bowl game against the Chiefs, he thought the Niners would win the championship, but unfortunately, that feeling didn’t last long as the second half began.

It does when you lose the games, but I think that passes, and then you get to work and you really have no other option but to grind it out again. I think by the end of the offseason I'm always ready to get back to work.

Bosa shared that going back home after the end of each season helps him regroup so that when he returns to the field, he is prepared to ace it. And with the 49ers being the favorite for the Super Bowl in the coming season, the four-time Pro Bowler has moved on from the loss and focused on the 2024 season.

I spend half my year in Florida and half my year out here, so by the end of the season, I'm ready to get home, and by the end of my time at home, I'm ready to get to work. So it's a good split

Nick Bosa reflects on potential to team up with brother Joey

During the press conference, Bosa also addressed the rumors of his brother, Joey Bosa– who currently plays for the Los Angeles Chargers, potentially teaming up with him and the two might be playing on the same defensive line. The 49ers star admitted considering the scenario, but his brother didn’t want to leave his team.

It was fun to think about. I think he wanted to stick with the team and be a part of hopefully their turning it around

He further added that, since his brother Joey had been with the Chargers for eight years, he deserves to be with them now that they have entered their rejuvenating phase under new head coach Jim Harbaugh.
