The San Francisco 49ers, the reigning NFC Champions, bowed out of playoff contention in the regular season after a dismal record through seventeen weeks. The Niners were ravaged by many injuries to key offensive and defensive players including Nick Bosa – sidelining them for couple of games in the least.
In the post-game analysis, the Niners coach maintained that they are focusing on starting the offseason earlier instead of dwelling on what went wrong throughout the year. Kyle Shanahan expressed delight in extended time to understand the free agencies and draft. The 49ers have entered the playoffs for the last three years, therefore there wasn’t much time to dwell and develop. Nevertheless, he admitted that he wished they were preparing for another playoff run like last year.
Defensive end Nick Bosa, who has yet to experience a full offseason, remains optimistic about how the added rest could benefit both his performance and the team’s success.
It’s going to be huge. I think we kind of needed it as a team. It’s definitely a grind. It’s only one more month, but adding another month on top of what you’ve already done feels like three months, so it’s a huge, huge thing. I haven’t really experienced it yet because the only time we didn’t make it (to the playoffs), I was hurt. So, I was rehabbing all the way through.
Nick Bosa told the reporters
Bosa views the early start to the offseason as a valuable opportunity to rest and recharge, a benefit he has grown to appreciate with experience.
San Francisco 49ers’ journey back to postseason glory is already well underway
The San Francisco 49ers’ offseason might be for the betterment after all. Speaking on KNBR’s “Murph and Markus” show Friday morning, John Lynch shared that the 49ers’ plans to address their 2024 struggles are “well in the works.” John Lynch and HC Shanahan are confirmed to stay in California.

We just got to get back to where we belong, which is competing for championships. I wholly and strongly believe that we’ve got the group in place to do that. A lot of circumstances that happened this year and us just not taking care of business.
John Lynch stated
Kyle Shanahan stated that he will fully immerse himself in the 49ers’ offseason process starting on Monday.
Not as much as John would and stuff. I’ve got an idea of stuff. I map out my January and have to answer my wife’s questions and kids and stuff who might think I’m off, but I’m not. So things like that. But as far as fully putting my mind into it and everything that won’t start until really the plane ride back.
Kyle Shanahan said
However, Kyle Shanahan is not keen on making any offense personnel changes. The 45-year-old from the Twin cities is comfortable with the current coaching staff. Shanahan and his boys sans Bosa will finish off their season against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Sunday.
