This Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers secured their second consecutive win of the season with a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. For Nick Bosa, however, it was more than just a win—he paid a special tribute to newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump, marking his first celebratory moment since Trump’s election victory.

Usually, athletes prefer keeping their political opinions private to avoid unnecessary controversies. However, the 49ers star defensive end has never shied away from expressing his support for the Republican leader, Trump.

In the fourth quarter of the game, Bosa sacked the Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield on a 4th-and-23, resulting in a punt. The defensive end then surprised everyone by changing his routine-sack celebration by performing Trump’s signature dance move, and he was soon joined by a few of his teammates.

It was well worth it. I don’t think my position on speaking about it is going to change, so clearly the nation spoke. We got what we got.

Nick Bosa told the reporters when asked about the fine imposed on him because of his stunt

This wasn’t the only stunt Bosa pulled this season in favor of Donald Trump. The former Defensive Player of the Year also sported a “Make America Great Again” cap in last week’s post-game press conference. This act resulted in an $11,255 fine for violating Rule 5, Section 4, Article 8 of the NFL Rulebook, which he was informed about just hours before the game.

49ers secure back-to-back wins after rough start

Though Bosa’s sack celebration on Sunday became one of the biggest highlights, it couldn’t overshadow the standout play by the 49ers, resulting in the 23-20 victory. Despite the 3-4 season start, the Niners have finally recovered to a two-game winning record.

They were previously tied for first place in the NFC West with the Arizona Cardinals at a 5-4 record. However, the Cardinals’ solid 30-6 win against the New York Jets on Sunday pushed the Niners down to second place and improved Arizona’s record to 6-4.

Fortunately for the 49ers, star running back Christian McCaffrey has been taken off the injury reserve after he recovered from his injury. With Bosa taking care of the opposing offense and McCaffrey back in the lineup, quarterback Brock Purdy now has a powerful offensive weapon as they prepare to face formidable opponents in the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions during Week 12 and 13, respectively.
