Nick Bosa’s Donald Trump supporting MAGA hat controversy finally under league review
NFL launches inquiry into pass rusher Nick Bosa sporting Donald Trump-supporting MAGA hat after San Francisco 49ers' recent game.

There are only a few days to go before the citizens of the United States decide on their next President. Considering all the compelling arguments, many are sure of who their next leader is. Just like San Francisco 49ers star pass rusher Nick Bosa, whose actions were condemned by many, but not yet by the NFL.
It became a subject of much debate as the league did not instantly reprimand the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The entire footballing community expected the league to do so as what he did after their last game was a direct violation of the rules laid down by the same people enforcing it.
Several days after contradicting opinions blazed through networks and social media, it seems the NFL has finally caught on to the need to do something. Jonathan Jones of NFL on CBS was the first to learn of this development, which he shared on his X account.

Nick Bosa will not face any disciplinary actions until the election voting process is complete. Then also, he will not likely face any suspension. This could be an after-effect of the star DE not pursuing the topic in the post-game press conference. But at least he helped the NFL, and his 49ers receive some revenue out of it.
Nick Bosa’s situation is different from former 49ers star Colin Kaepernick
Another San Francisco 49ers star made a political stand almost seven years ago. That star, Colin Kaepernick knelt during the national anthem to protest against police brutality and racial injustice in the country.
Several other players joined in to kneel with him after Donald Trump asked owners to fire players. But what worked against Kaepernick was that he was doing this in a contract year. The following season, as a free agent, he received no offers. His own team did not show interest in bringing him back.
Most speculated that his interest in making a political stand was not what NFL owners wanted on their teams at the time. But later during the Black Lives Matter movement, the NFL acknowledged their mistake in not listening to Colin Kaepernick.
But Nick Bosa’s MAGA hat-wearing stunt was an ode to show his support for Donald Trump. Even though debates have raged comparing his stunt to Kaepernick’s, he did not continue his stand. That is where the difference lies with what Kaepernick did.
Since Colin Kaepernick’s protests, the NFL has tightened its policy surrounding political messages. At the most, the NFL will fine the sack master. But if he continues to make a statement, it could have different ramifications.
