Nick Chubb Signing with Texans Doesn’t Sit Well with Browns Fans: “I F**ing Hate the Cleveland Browns”
Nick Chubb is leaving the Cleveland Browns but staying in the AFC to sign with the Houston Texans.

Nick Chubb’s time with the Cleveland Browns is coming to an end. He is set to share a locker room with CJ Stroud, Joe Mixon, and Nico Collins at the Houston Texans.
Chubb is the present-day Andrew Luck. The fans love him for his tenacity and never-give-up attitude.
Injuries kept Chubb from reaching the same heights as Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry. His boxing match with injuries began in college.
Chubb suffered a ‘grotesque’ knee injury while playing for Georgia against Tennessee in 2015. Five years later, the 29-year-old tore his MCL, and two years after that, Steelers DB Minkah Fitzpatrick injured the same knee that gave out in college.
Joe Buck: "I am told that the replay of Nick Chubb getting injured is not to be seen."

The groan from the Pittsburgh crowd probably tells us all we need to know. Chubb was carted off.

In 2022, Chubb was last seen rushing for over 1,000 yards (302 carries for 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns). Since aggravating his knee, he has only played 10 games, recording just over 500 yards and three touchdowns.
Chubb will have a fresh start in Texas. According to reports by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz, the Texans are waiting to complete the paperwork and the physical before the minicamp.
Sources: The #Texans are working on bringing in former #Browns star RB Nick Chubb for a visit on Monday.

Browns fans are not happy with the team releasing Nick Chubb
Chubb remaining a free agent confused everyone. A franchise like the Browns needs fan-favorite athletes on the roster to fill the stadium. The 4x Pro Bowl rusher was undeniably one of the players Browns fans bought tickets to see.

The Browns brass gave Chubb a three-year, $36 million extension back in 2021. They restructured his contract in April 2024, lowering his cap hit from $15.85 million to $6.275 million.
Despite missing playing time, Chubb wanted to remain with the Browns.
What’s amazing to me is how much support I had from the city of Cleveland. I know I’m not a guy who says a lot, but I do read the comments. I saw how much love you guys showed for me. In the NFL these days, that’s rare. It seemed like at times Browns fans were the only ones who weren’t seeing it as ‘just a business‘.

However, Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski suddenly felt that releasing Chubb was better than giving him a new contract. Cleveland natives and Browns fans all over the country disagreed with the brass’s decision.
I fucking hate the Cleveland Browns… Nick Chubb should have been a Brown his entire career… sickening

deshaun watson is a cleveland brown and nick chubb is a houston texan
— gabb (@gabbgoudy) June 8, 2025
disgusting really
I really hope what I’m reading is a lie. I know Nick has had a couple rough years but he isn’t human. He can and will overcome anything. He works hard and is the guy you want in the locker room. I’ll never forget this night meeting Nick. He is so kind. Love you Nick Chubb ❤️ pic.twitter.com/AxQWnuUdTW

Taking Nick Chubb.

The Playoff Game.
The Deshaun Watson Trade.
MAKE IT STOP HOUSTON. pic.twitter.com/ICZSdFa4i7
Andrew Berry has run the Browns into the ground. The Watson trade was a disaster, his draft decisions are baffling, and now he let Nick Chubb walk in free agency. Cleveland just finished 3-14, and his roster-building philosophy has left the team stuck in mediocrity. #DawgPound pic.twitter.com/fOvDxiixbr

I don't know if Nick Chubb can get back to what he was, but I know the Texans are getting an incredible locker room guy. I don't know if there's anyone more loved in Cleveland, based off everything I've seen.
— Dylan Delgatto (@DDelgattoNFL) June 9, 2025
Seems like there isn't a single fan who wanted Chubb to leave.
it’s rare to see phenomenal players like nick chubb want to stay in Cleveland and not go anywhere else in their career..
— summer (@SumCle24) June 8, 2025
..& we have our “smartest guy in the room” gm let him walk… to the Texans smh.
I feel like Nick Chubb should be the exception to the rule. I also know that’s emotional and the NFL is a business.
— Earl Da Pearl (@EarldaPearl216) June 9, 2025
IDGAF about that tho. I never in a million years thought I would see Chubb suit up in another team’s colors. That’s BS for real
I’m salty about this one..
I knew it was coming to an end but it just isn’t right and I don’t care if you think otherwise NICK CHUBB SHOULD HAVE NEVER WORN ANOTHER UNIFORM PERIOD!!!!!

Texans weren’t the only team interested in signing Chubb. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler revealed the New Orleans Saints as a potential destination.

-Chubb plans to sign as soon as Monday.
-Going to a contender…
