Logan Paul is one of those fortunate names on the current WWE roster who got to work with John Cena more than he would’ve personally hoped on this retirement tour. ‘The Maverick’ wrestled a classic one-on-one match with the 17-time world champion at Clash in Paris, after which Cena told WWE president Nick Khan that Paul had the it factor for this business.
Khan dove into Cena’s assessment of Paul while being a guest on the IMPAULSIVE podcast. ‘The Cenation Leader’ rang up the WWE CEO an hour or two after their match in France.
Khan noted that there was never a doubt about the Westlake-born athlete’s physical capabilities. What Cena wanted to test was whether Paul could work the crowd as well or not.
It was never ‘does he have the physical skills do it’, in ring, everyone knows you’ve put in the time and you can do it. But for John it was can you work the crowd with him? Can you give and take with him? Do you know how to follow direction and take the lead? I think, certainly from this seat, you proved yourself to him…..

And based on what they were able to deliver in Paris, Cena got his answer, which Khan relayed to Paul by stating that he certainly proved himself to Cena. The Nevada-born business magnate affirmed that ‘The Maverick’ received John Cena’s validation, which the people within WWE expected to happen.

Paul, who’s currently aligned with Paul Heyman, broke character after putting on a stellar show with ‘The Franchise Player’ at Clash in Paris. The former US Champion hailed the 48-year-old as an absolute mastermind of this craft and said that he wrestles better than how good Pablo Picasso did at painting.
While the core WWE audience still hasn’t wholly accepted the PRIME co-owner into the business with open arms, the veterans of the game see big things in Paul’s future.
WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter told Bill Apter during an interview a few months ago that ‘The Maverick’ could become the biggest babyface this industry has ever seen once he establishes himself as the most dastardly on-screen villain.
As of now, the 30-year-old is under Heyman’s tutelage and alongside the likes of Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed. It seems like Paul has committed to a more rigorous WWE schedule.
John Cena predicts he will be forgotten by the fans by Royal Rumble 2026
By the end of this week, John Cena will be regarded as a retired WWE wrestler. It still hasn’t sunk into the hearts of millions of his fans and probably never will. But Cena believes he would be forgotten rather quickly. ‘The Prototype’ made some bold claims during his recent appearance on Joe Rogan‘s podcast.

He said that he’ll be forgotten by the fans by next year’s Royal Rumble, which falls over 6 weeks after his wrestling swansong on December 13. Cena made it clear that he’s not stirring up a plea of sympathy for remembering him. Instead, the Peacemaker actor said it’s just a real-life fact.
He then quipped that “nobody will give a fu*k” about him by the time WrestleMania arrives in 2026, and that’s because the fans will be hooked on present WWE programming leading into its biggest show of the year. Even though Cena said it all with a straight face and as if it’s not a big deal, the fans will definitely have a hard time overcoming the agony of his retirement.

The wrestling circles on social media have been putting out emotional video edits paying homage to Cena’s WWE career. This activity has picked up steam in recent weeks. This weekend, the ‘Babe Ruth of WWE’ will step in the ring with Gunther, who earned the right to be Cena’s final opponent by winning The Last Time is Now tournament.
‘The Ring General’ has vowed to make the legend tap out, and it remains to be seen. Cena said in a social media post that Gunther is someone whom he respects, but he will bring his best to work at Saturday Night’s Main Event. ‘The Cenation Leader’ is very hopeful that his efforts will be reciprocated.
