Thanasi Kokkinakis assures Nick Kyrgios will come back

It has been over a year since Nick Kyrgios played a match on the ATP Tour. The Australian tennis star has not been able to recover and become match-fit ever since he underwent surgery on his wrists and knees. Kyrgios’ absence from the tour and his engagement in activities away from the court have led to concerns over a comeback.

Although Kyrgios has teased his fans time and again about a potential comeback, there remains a doubt. With the Australian not playing, the ‘Special K‘ duo of tennis has also been missing. Nevertheless, Thanasi Kokkinakis is certain that the duo will be back soon.

In an interview with ABC News, Kokkinakis had assured tennis fans that Kyrgios will come back and that his commentary stint is temporary. He also talked about the ‘Special K’ making a comeback.

I'm having dinner with him tonight, and he ain't retiring any time soon, so he's good. He's playing. He'll be right. He's commentating short-term but he'll be back playing pretty soon. Special K definitely has to come back. We haven't played since we won the doubles here in Australia, so we've definitely got to bring it back and we'd love your support.
Thanasi Kokkinakis said to ABC News.

It is to be seen how long Kyrgios decides to return to action. The Australian star has been making good progress and has also declared that “there is still fire in his belly.

In case you missed!
