Nick Kyrgios has been one of the most talked-about athletes on the tennis tour since doping scandals came to light in August. The Australian has gained attention for being a vocal critic of Jannik Sinner after the Italian tested positive twice for clostebol in March.
After a series of remarks targeting the World No. 1, Kyrgios has apparently started a feud with former World No. 1 Andy Roddick. The American, like Sinner, was also linked to a doping scandal during his playing career, which was highlighted by a tweet from an X account. Kyrgios quickly responded, suggesting that Roddick defends players involved in such controversies because of his own past.
Hahaha, most likely.

Roddick has built a reputation as one of Sinner’s strongest supporters, particularly through his YouTube channel, Served with Andy Roddick. This stance has led him to engage in debates with various Twitter accounts, including the controversial Novak Djokovic fan known as Pavvy G.
The discussions around doping are far from over, especially with World No. 2 Iga Swiatek being suspended for a failed doping test. However, the Polish player is eligible to compete in the Australian Open next year, as her suspension lasted only one month.
Nick Kyrgios hopes to rename John Cain Arena ahead of the Australian Open
2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios has shared his desire to rename John Cain Arena, his favorite Australian Open court, after himself. The Australian star believes the arena holds special significance for his career and achievements.

The court just feels amazing, I think I just love the dimensions of it. Even though every single court’s got the same dimensions, it’s just the backdrop and everything about it. I like how the crowd’s really close. I really want to put a petition in, when I’m done, to call it the Kyrgios Court, instead of John Cain Arena (laughter).
Nick Kyrgios said on The AO show podcast
The Aussie is making his return to Grand Slam tournaments at Melbourne Park. This will be his first major appearance since the 2022 US Open, following a long recovery from injury. Kyrgios has frequently expressed his love for John Cain Arena, where he has a strong track record. The 29-year-old boasts a 12-3 win-loss record at the venue, highlighting his comfort and success there.
In the interview on The AO Show podcast, he also explained why the court is so meaningful to him and revealed his dream of having the arena renamed in his honor someday. Kyrgios will compete in the Brisbane International to prepare for the Australian Open, starting just before the new year.
