Nick Kyrgios has made it clear that he doesn’t want to have a career like Andy Murray who recently retired. Kyrgios was surprised to see Murray joining hands with Novak Djokovic to be the latter’s coach and while commenting on it, he made a remark on the Brit’s wife Kim Sears.
According to Kyrgios, Murray was always ‘hobbling to the finish line’ following his injury problems. The Brit, who made a comeback to tennis after his career-threatening hip injury, retired at the Paris Olympics in August.
But he is back to tennis again as a coach of Djokovic for the Australian Open where Kyrgios intends to play after making his comeback at the 2025 Brisbane International. Kyrgios, while talking about the Murray-Djokovic collaboration, joked that had he been the Scot’s partner, he would’ve broken up with him.
And now he’s coaching Novak, I’m like, man, this guy actually can’t stay away from tennis. He just can’t. I was like, this guy’s gonna go stay with his family, enjoy his life. But he’s like I’m coaching Novak, I’m like, ‘Oh my god’. I’d break up with him for sure.

Murray’s major challenge would be to help 37-year-old Djokovic overcome players like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Alexander Zverev to guide the Serb to his 11th Australian Open.
Nick Kyrgios reveals his plans for the 2025 season
Nick Kyrgios in 2025 would be hoping to play smoothly throughout the season without any injury problems. He revealed on the aforementioned podcast about the tournaments he is planning to play next year.

I am probably going to play [Grand] Slams, Masters events, and maybe a couple of [ATP] 500s. Everything feels good, the scar is disgusting and is on both sides, but it feels okay.

Kyrgios however is unsure whether he would be able to give his best or not but he is certain that there will be ‘a lot of controversial energy’ if he plays. He wants to have a clash with Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open so that he ‘would just turn it into an absolute riot’ and do ‘anything’ to win against the World No.1.
Kyrgios has met Sinner just once but he has been on the receiving end of Sinner’s supporters because of the doping scandal. Sinner failed a drug test twice but bore no fault or negligence and since then he has been censured by the Aussie.
