Nick Kyrgios has expressed delight at the prospect of training with Novak Djokovic at the Wimbledon Championships. The Australian, who has been sidelined due to injury, is set to share the court with the Serbian on his off day.
For most of the last two years, Kyrgios has been forced to stay away from the action due to injuries. He is presently in London, where he has taken up the role of a commentator for the grass Major.
However, Kyrgios is set to pick up a racket and hit a few balls against Djokovic. He took to social media to share the news and stated that he was looking forward to the same.
Hitting with Novak tomorrow on his day off, feel like a little kid again…. Feeling excited. Long way back from this surgery!

Djokovic and Kyrgios have recently started building on their ‘bromance’. At the Australian Open earlier this year, the former World No. 1 even made a few gestures aimed at the 29-year-old during and after his matches.

Novak Djokovic gets permission to break Wimbledon dress code
Novak Djokovic had picked up an injury at the French Open and underwent surgery to address the issue. He arrived in London and began to train with a gray colored band on his knee.
Many people expected him to wear a white one at Wimbledon due to their all-white dress code. However, he could not find a white band and had a request for an exception granted. The 37-year-old later disclosed that he got permission from the organizers to break the dress code.
I did check. I actually just met the chairwoman just before walking onto the court. She gave me thumbs up, so it was okay. Of course, we did check in the days prior if we have permission. We’re trying to find a white one, trust me.
Novak Djokovic said in the press conference
The Serbian won his first-round match against Vit Kopriva in straight sets, dropping only five games. He is set to face Jacob Fearnley in the second round on Thursday (July 4).
