Nick Kyrgios has been missing from the tennis scene since October of 2022, playing just one tournament in Stuttgart last year. The feisty Australian suffered a knee injury almost two years ago and has not been able to compete at his best since.
He recently took to Instagram to do a Q&A session with his fans and was bombarded with questions regarding his return to the tour. The 2022 Wimbledon finalist was less than eager to answer these questions and deal with speculations on his physical condition.
A fan, seemingly innocently, asked Nick Kyrgios how his physique was looking, maybe in hopes of seeing him back on court. Annoyed by these questions, the Australian responded angrily, attacking ‘unqualified people’ who “give their two cents on social media.”
Good bro! All these unqualified people with zero achievements and skill online giving their 2 sense(cents) on social media about gym and how to live, really inspire me.Nick Kyrgios wrote in response to a question about his physical condition at the moment
This is not the first time he has been this candid about his opinion on people, often shouting at the audience who say something he doesn’t like during his matches, even if it was meant to encourage him. He has been reprimanded many times for his behavior towards fans and fellow competitors.
Nick Kyrgios suggests a comeback as he shares training videos
Nick Kyrgios, who has not played a professional match in a year, had started to spend more time on his commentating and podcast gigs. This left fans wondering if they had seen the last of the Australian on court.
Kyrgios shut down these assumptions as he shared two training videos on his Instagram, one where he is playing tennis and the other where he is hitting the gym. “Feeling naughty,” said the text that accompanied the first video where he can be seen engaging in an intense rally.
The next one, which featured his aggressive gym workout, was captioned “Demon Kygs is coming.” This almost seemingly confirmed the talented star’s return to professional tennis.
