Throughout this past regular season, Nick Sirianni has been fighting to keep the peace on his offense. Mainly, wide receiver AJ Brown has been seemingly unhappy from time to time.
There were times when the 28-year-old’s behavior and words were seen as a slight at quarterback Jalen Hurts and offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Then, when he was targeted quite a few times, the team ended up struggling with a different problem. Still, the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles carried on with some statement wins to remind critics that it was all fine.
In the Wild Card round, the team was going to face a familiar foe with an unfamiliar roster, as injuries to key players have helped the San Francisco 49ers camouflage their true potential. Even in this game, star tight end George Kittle left early after tearing his Achilles. Despite that, the Eagles were behind late in the fourth quarter and eventually lost.
More than the loss, it was what happened in the second quarter that has since gripped everyone associated with football. After not being able to catch back-to-back deep passes, AJ Brown was slow to come off the field.
Seeing this, Nick Sirianni started running towards his leading wideout, yelling at him to get off the field quickly to avoid getting slapped with a ‘too many personnel’ penalty.

Brown reacted, which led to a serious shouting match between the pair. Eventually, Dom ‘Big Dom’ DiSandro, the designated ‘strong man’ on the Eagles, had to step in and separate them.
AJ Brown declined to meet with reporters after loss
Even though two full quarters were played out after that tussle, it seems AJ Brown was still feeling the aftereffects of going at it with his head coach.

After the game, naturally, reporters demanded that they get to speak with the three-time Pro Bowler. Instead, as per The Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski, the pass catcher went around hugging some teammates in the locker room, and then left the facilities.
That indicates that he was still upset with whatever went down between him and Sirianni, and naturally, did not want a room full of reporters to cross-question him about it.
Either way, his decision to avoid facing the media will now allow the rest of the football world to dissect what went down and how Brown’s actions could soon bring some changes to the team.

After all, the young defense proved that it can handle itself. But the offense, especially with the way Brown missed four of his seven targets, could lead many to pile the pressure on Howie Roseman to get rid of the mercurial wideout.
Nick Sirianni clears the air about his relationship with AJ Brown
Since reporters could not get their chance to ask AJ Brown about his version of the animated altercation with Nick Sirianni, they turned to the head coach for what he felt was the cause.
I was trying to get him off the field… I love AJ. I have a special relationship with him. We’ve probably went through every emotion you can possibly have together… That happens in this game, but I love him.
Nick Sirianni replied
If anything, this was probably the 44-year-old’s attempt to diffuse the situation, knowing the media and fans alike would be gunning for Brown.

His fit has already been a topic of debate, but now, his attitude towards his head coach and the team will be the focal point of debates raging across Philadelphia.
If passionate Philly fans get in on the act and demand the team part ways with AJ Brown, they might not have a choice, as the city lives and breathes through this team.
