Nick Sirianni found his voice after the Philadelphia Eagles hung on to secure a 13-12 victory against the Buffalo Bills. Sirianni made sure everyone inside the stadium tunnel heard it.

The reigning Super Bowl champions arrived in Buffalo as the underdogs to face off against one of the best offenses in the league, run by 2024 league MVP, Josh Allen. It was the Eagles who rushed to a 13-0 lead at halftime, with kicker Jake Elliott earning his keep with two field goals after Jalen Hurts opened the scoring.

The game ended in a cagey fashion after the Bills missed a two-point conversion. It ended 13-12, much to the delight of Sirianni. Cameras picked up the 44-year-old shouting inside the Highmark Stadium tunnel while heading for the locker room.

Not so much (talking) anymore!

Nick Sirianni shouted

The Eagles’ big win bumped them up to the third seed and kept them right in the mix for an even stronger finish to the regular season.

Nick Sirianni had a lot to say after the Eagles’ big win over the Bills

The Eagles dominated the home team in every aspect. Allen found it difficult to connect with his receivers. Aside from occasionally linking with Brandin Cooks, Khalil Shakir, and Tyrell Shavers, the Bills’ passing game was very much limited in the middle of the field.

That’s mostly down to Eagles’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio‘s scheme. Allen was sacked five times, losing 51 yards in the process.

Despite the early lead and wrapping Allen in a defensive chokehold, the Bills slowly crawled back in the game in the final quarter. The Pro Bowl signal caller used the Eagles’ X-factor against them. He scored back-to-back tush push touchdowns to bring the Bills within one score of the Eagles’ total.

It’s hard to win a road football game against this type of team [the Bills] with that caliber of quarterback [Josh Allen]… I don’t care if it’s 48-47 or 13-12 …. You have to give yourself points to win, and you have to be super critical of yourself and of how you get better from this.

Nick Sirianni said after the game

Allen finished with 23 completions for 262 yards and zero touchdowns through the air, but he made up for it with two scores on the ground on seven carries. James Cook rushed 20 times for 74 yards, while Cooks caught 4 passes for 101 yards.

The Bills had the chance to steal a later winner. However, Allen blew the golden opportunity by throwing an incompletion on the two-point try. Once again, Sirianni has to thank the tenacity of the Eagles’ defense. Allen missed because the pass rush forced an early pass out of him, hindering his accuracy.

It’s a good thing for Hurts that the Eagles’ defense was at its best, because he wasn’t. He only completed 13 passes from 27 attempts for 110 yards and threw one touchdown. Saquon Barkley carried the ball 19 times for 68 yards, while AJ Brown crossed 1000 yards for the season with 5 catches for 68 yards.

The Eagles host the 4-12 Washington Commanders on the final day of the regular season. Two weeks ago, Hurts threw 2 touchdowns, and Barkley rushed for 132 yards and contributed one TD to grab a 29-18 victory over the Commanders.
