After having a remarkable record of 10-1 till December, the Philadelphia Eagles went through a major downfall late in the season and were eliminated from the playoffs following their wild-card round loss. Heading into the 2024 regular season, the team is poised to make a comeback, especially quarterback Jalen Hurts, who posted a career-high interception count of 15.

Following the 2023 season fiasco, Hurts has been working on his plays and eliminating turnovers which has also brought results in the training camp as he logged zero interceptions. However, sports analyst Nick Wright is still not satisfied with the quarterback and criticized him for being overly cautious with his passes.

While talking about the Eagles’ training camp in the recent episode of First Things First, Wright knew the upshot of his words against Hurts after his successful run in the camp. But he believes his arguments that Hurts recording “too few” interceptions are valid.

I know it sounds absurd, and it sounds like I'm picking on guys, I don't mean it. But I need a little bit in training camp of, 'Oh, I took a chance there.’ You need a couple of interceptions in mid-August in training camp. It either means, in my opinion, either that you are being a little too cautious or this horrendous back seven from last year somehow's got worse.

Wright believes that Hurts being overly careful while throwing the passes could create a major concern for the team–which they certainly can’t afford following the collapse of last season.
