The New York Jets look to get a fresh start this week as the team was able to land one of the NFL’s best wide receivers in Davante Adams. The Jets have no excuses, and everything is working in their favor, which is why the fanbase is excited and has high expectations.
However, despite the upgrades the New York Jets have made, one man believes the team will not improve. In fact, he feels they will be exposed as they head to Pennsylvania to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
FS1’s Nick Wright is rooting against Aaron Rodgers and the Jets who are favorites to win Sunday’s matchup despite having a worse record than Pittsburgh. Nick Wright stated on First Things First that the Jets are sheep in wolf’s clothing.

The analyst is not convinced that a change in head coaching, the primary offensive play caller, and the addition of a wide receiver is enough to turn this team to a Super Bowl contender.
Nick Wright believes the New York Jets offense is playing similar to last season
The analyst is baffled at the hype surrounding this team, especially after Jeff Ulbrich‘s first game. Wright is attempting to put the message across that fans are missing the point here.
Realistically, the Jets are the same team they were last season, not better, not worse even though they have a new offensive play-caller.
He then pointed out the team’s record at this stage of the season in 2023 with Zach Wilson as the quarterback. The team had three wins through six weeks while this year, they have two wins.
The Jets went on to finish with a 7-10 record last season, and Nick Wright believes this year’s team is on the path to achieving a similar finish. The numbers do not lie and with the Jets averaging 18.8 PPG this season and the same through six weeks in 2023, Wright’s argument carries merit to it.
Despite these facts, the Jets’ hype train has left the station. The changes made by Woody Johnson in the last two weeks have fans convinced that this team is built to make a Super Bowl run.
The team has a favorable schedule in the coming weeks and has enough talent to win eight to nine more games this season, but it would be wiser to wait and watch if this team can utilize all the talent to its maximum potential.
