If there’s one guy whom the Las Vegas Raiders absolutely hate losing to, it’s Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has often been the thorn in their sides.

Being part of the AFC West, both sides meet each other twice every season, with Mahomes getting the better of the Raiders on most days despite their best efforts. So far, the 28-year-old has faced the Silver and Blacks 10 times in his NFL career and has lost only twice—the latest one came during the 2023 Christmas showdown.

After the win, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce claimed, he discovered the method of shutting down Mahomes completely. However, it didn’t work when the two sides met earlier in November. All-Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby vowed to best the Chiefs once again as they gathered the pieces during the NFL draft in April.

The anticipation for their October 27 game reached a new height when one of the Raiders players mocked Patrick Mahomes using a Kermit Doll on Thursday during training camp. Staunch Chiefs supporter Nick Wright saw the clip and planned to criticize the childish behavior.

Wright took a U-turn when he found out that Mahomes viewed the video as part and parcel of football. During Friday’s segment of FOX’s First Things First, Wright heard Mahomes’ reply and sent a warning to the Raiders.

I was worried the Chiefs would hit a lull. Now, they won't. You've somehow given Patrick Mahomes more ammunition for a team that has no business giving them any.

Andy Reid’s cheeky dig at the Raiders for trolling Patrick Mahomes with Kermit the Frog doll

Social media viewed the stunt pulled by the Raiders player as disrespectful toward the three-time Super Bowl winner, who is on the verge of a historic three-peat. So far, fans have heard Mahomes’ point of view on the entire situation, and it was time for head coach Andy Reid to speak his mind.

At training camp on Friday, CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones asked coach Reid about the Kermit fiasco.

We don’t spend a lot of time here with puppets. We try to do our work and try to get better. That’s the important thing.
Andy Reid replied per On3.com

To be fair, the Raiders players did not bring the Kermit plushie with them. It was a gift from a fan who wanted to see if anyone would wear it. The only conundrum was that the doll resembled Mahomes because of the frilly hair and the red jersey.
