In the NBA Cup quarterfinals, the Atlanta Hawks defeated the New York Knicks 108-100 on Wednesday night thanks to another outstanding performance by Trae Young at Madison Square Garden. Young pretended to roll dice on the logo to taunt the Knicks toward the end of the game.

Former NBA player Nick Young was left in shock by that move and gave his thoughts on the same. In an appearance on Gil’s Arena Podcast, Young spoke about various topics regarding the NBA and its players.

The former Los Angeles Lakers star said that Young’s antics in the game took him by surprise. He trolled the Knicks for allowing the Hawks star to do the ‘dice roll’ on their logo.

I don’t want to have a coach get on me, ‘You let him roll the dice?’ I got to do something! There comes a point where a man’s like, ‘I’m not little no more, I’m not little no more!’ Disrespected me in front of my City.

Nick Young said on the Gil’s Arena Podcast

Young, who finished this game with 22 points, five rebounds, 11 assists, and one steal, has long been the Knicks’ biggest public opponent and is unlikely to lose the top status soon after his stunt at the logo. The 26-year-old wanted to inform them that he and his team, and not the Knicks, are now traveling to Las Vegas for the semifinals.

Young has had a longstanding beef with the Knicks and their fans. Earlier this season, on home court, he did something similar. He told the Knicks fans to take ‘their a**es home.’ The Knicks are yet to get the better of Young and the Knicks this season.

Jalen Brunson provides a ‘blunt reaction’ towards Trae Young’s antics

Trae Young‘s antics at Madison Square Garden did not go down well with the Knicks fans. The Knicks player, unfortunately, did not perform up to their standards on home turf.

They were overshadowed by Young’s display and Knicks captain Jalen Brunson expressed the same. When asked about Young’s late-game theatrics during his postgame news conference, Brunson had a direct response.

We should win the game if we don’t want him to do that.

Jalen Brunson said

In the game against the Hawks, Brunson only managed 14 points (5-15 FG), four rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and one block. The former All-Star also did not receive much support from his teammates. Now, Brunson and Co. will shift their attention towards the 2024-25 NBA season.
