(Video) Nico Harrison’s comical reaction as Anthony Davis gets hurt in eliminator against Grizzlies goes viral
Mavs' Anthony Davis suffered an injury scare late during his matchup against the Grizzlies, garnering a hilarious reaction by Nico Harrison.

Nico Harrison and Anthony Davis
The Dallas Mavericks played against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday in a must-win game to secure the 8th seed in the Western Conference. However, it was the Grizzlies and their star Ja Morant who prevailed in this game, knocking out the Mavs and their star center Anthony Davis by scoreline of 120-106.
Notably, all eyes were on Davis going into this game. Mainly because of his GM, Nico Harrison‘s bold statement: “defense wins championships” during a recent press conference. Although Davis did his all to secure a win, it just was not enough.
In addition, Davis also suffered an injury mid-game, which brought out a hilarious reaction from Harrison, as caught on camera. It’s safe to say that the reaction is going viral among the NBA community.

Despite his teammates’ lack of assistance, Davis finished the game with 40 points in a strong performance before leaving to receive medical attention for his leg. Late in the game, the star big man had to deal with an injury because much of the offense went through him. Davis gave it his all despite suffering an injury late in the game.
The Mavs lost out on the playoffs after playing the NBA Finals last season. This recent loss just adds to their turmoil. The franchise has suffered all season.
On the other hand, Jaren Jackson scored 24 points. Even though Ja Morant sprained his right ankle, he was still able to play for the Grizzlies. According to reports, he received injections to cope with his agony. Morant finished with two steals, nine assists, and 22 points. From the first tip, the Grizzlies were in control. They prevented the Mavs from maintaining a lead, leading by as much as 25 points.
Ja Morant and Anthony Davis got into a verbal feud during the game
The Mavs-Grizzlies matchup was tipped to have a lot of drama and chaos surrounding it, and it did. Both stars of their respective franchises, Ja Morant and Anthony Davis, did not hold back against each other early in the game.
After a shooting foul early in the game, Davis and Morant got into a heated argument. Davis, who was upset at the call and how easily Morant was going to the basket, confronted the Grizzlies star before he could make a free throw.
“I’ll guard you though,” to which Morant responded, “Yeah, come on!” Davis again responded, “You know I’m right here, You know I’m not going nowhere, you know I’m not going nowhere. You know that, you know that!”

Davis backed his words by producing a monstrous performance against the Grizzlies, but his efforts went in vain. That is because Morand and Co. put in a collective effort to snatch the win against Davis and his teammates. The Mavs’ star received minimal support from his teammates, leading to his side being stripped of a playoff berth.
Ja Morant produced an insane putback dunk on the Mavs early in the 1st quarter
Earlier this 2024-25 NBA season, Ja Morant was arguing with the NBA regarding the officiating done during his games. This was in relation to his ‘dunks’, so much so that the Grizzlies star claimed he would quit dunking due to the poor refereeing.
However, that was just Morant being Morant. After his remarks, he went on to produce several dunks on his opponents. With the latest one coming against the Mavs on Friday. The Grizzlies’ star produced a sensational ‘putback’ dunk on the Mavs’ defense, leaving fans in awe. The dunk came early in the first quarter, where things got intense between Morant and Mavs star Anthony Davis.

Some would say the dunk was a reply by Morant to Davis on the court. To make matters worse for Davis, Morant and his side won the game, cinching the last playoff berth. Now, the Grizzlies will take on No.1 seed, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on Sunday in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
