Thursday night provided enough thriller for the fans during the Boston Bruins vs. Dallas Stars game. Bruins defenceman Nikita Zadorov absolutely thrashed Stars captain Jamie Benn during the latter’s 7-2 win against Black and Gold.
The brawl sparked following Benn’s hit on Bruins defenceman Brandon Carlo from behind in the team’s defensive zone. Zadorov immediately sprung into action, dropping gloves against Benn.
As the two fought on, Carlo lay flat on the ice as trainers came in to assist him to the locker room. It was a huge concern for both the team and the fans as Carlo has a history of suffering from concussions before.
Zadorov did not hesitate to answer the reporters that it was a natural response from him seeing his teammate flat on the ice. Following Benn’s hit on Carlo, the latter dived right into the boards head-first.

During the brawl, Benn landed a few hits on Zadorov but it didn’t have any effects. Rather, it was the 29-year-old who absolutely went mayhem on the forward until the on-ice officials broke it off.
Jamie Benn was assessed a 5-minute major, but after further reviewing the referees reduced it to a 2-minute minor. Apart from that, both Benn and Zadorov were assessed for 5 minutes for the brawl. Unfortunately, the Boston Bruins did not only lose the game but also a teammate got injured.

Shouldn’t have stopped. Putt Benn in the hospital bed next to Carlo’s.

The refs should have let Zadorov get a few more shots in. Gutless play by Benn.

While Nikita Zadorov was pretty upset about the hit on his teammate, he was equally harsh on the Bruins’ declining performance. Following the team’s devastating loss, he blasted how the team “lost every battle” due to weak offense and defense.
The team’s performance and start to the season have been a concern for many, but for now, everyone’s wishes are for positive news on Carlo. The team will look forward to their counterattack in Saturday’s game against St. Louis Blues.
