After making her WWE return to Monday Night Raw this past week, Nikki Bella joined Sports Illustrated for a brief chat. In the rapid-fire segment of the conversation, the trailblazing grappler was asked which celebrity and pro athlete she’d love to wrestle. Bella said there would be a ton of them but named Serena Williams right off the bat.

On SI, the former Divas Champion added that Williams might’ve embraced motherhood at this stage of her life, but she does have that sass and a stage presence. Bella cited the tennis great’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show performance as an example. Apart from the 23-time Grand Slam Champion, Bella came up with Taylor Swift‘s name.

The first person that comes to mind is Serena Williams. I think that would be so cool……..Taylor Swift would be really fun. I’d have to, I think, be in my bad girl era.………

But if that were to happen, The Fearless One would have to be in her bad girl era, said the WWE Hall of Famer. The Barmageddon host also hinted at the potential clash between her Bella Army and the singer-songwriter’s Swifties.

Circling back to The Beautiful Bomber’s latest WWE appearance on Raw, she didn’t have the best of comebacks. Bella was confronted by Liv Morgan, who went on to implicitly reference the 41-year-old’s tumultuous divorce from Artem Chigvintsev.

Bella would then retort with questioning Dominik Mysterio‘s shaky allegiance to Morgan ever since Roxanne Perez has entered the fray. The former Riott Squad member was irate and eventually clocked the ex-Total Divas host with an Oblivion. They’re expected to work on a program together heading into the all-women Evolution PLE slated for July 12.

Is Brie Bella set for a WWE return too after Nikki Bella?

It seems like Nikki Bella might get some backup soon. As per TMZ Sports, The Fearless One’s twin sister, Brie Bella, is in talks with WWE to plot an in-ring return. If it materializes, The Bella Twins would likely join forces against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to battle for the women’s tag team titles at the Evolution PLE.

WWE is hopeful about it, and the tentative creative plans are set if Brie were to join Nikki, noted WrestleVotes. TMZ’s reporting mentioned that Bryan Danielson‘s wife was pissed about Morgan alluding to her twin’s divorce from last year on national television. It’d be interesting to see if WWE would double down on the hubbub encompassing Bella’s marital status or not.

The latter has confirmed that she’ll be appearing on Raw again this week from Green Bay. In the aforementioned interview with SI, Bella was asked if she has a chip on her shoulder trying to prove a point. The Beautiful Bomber denied having such a feeling and was rather fascinated by the prospect of someone who had her last singles match six years ago going toe-to-toe with the current crop of talent in WWE.

Nikki Bella‘s return to Raw didn’t sit well with a section of the fans. Apart from her in-ring segment with Liv Morgan, Bella had a backstage interaction with the women’s world champion, Iyo Sky. The latter greeted the veteran and said that she paved the way for women like Sky. That line was blown out of proportion in wrestling circles on social media, with Bella bearing the brunt of it.

Addressing the criticism around that statement from Sky, The Fearless One explained what it actually meant on The Nikki and Brie Show. Bella said that paving the way for others wasn’t an ode to her in-ring repertoire but the stand she took for the women’s locker room in front of the management.

The Beautiful Bomber explained how limited opportunities were already a nip in the bud for any female wrestler in the company during her heyday. Bella went off on the naysayers by calling them ignorant and said she doesn’t care about their opinion, as they didn’t go through the struggle the WWE Superstars, especially women, did.
