The relationship between Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev has derailed severely over the past few months. There have been a lot of allegations thrown around by both partners, and most details have been kept private. Recently, fans finally got a chance to hear the former Diva’s Champion’s side of the story.
A report by TMZ revealed the contents of Bella’s petition for a restraining order against her former husband. In her sworn declaration, the Hall of Famer stated that her ex-husband tackled her to the ground, pinned her down, and assaulted her in other physical ways, even when their child, Matteo, was present in the room.
The Russian dancer had grown increasingly short-tempered ever since he was cut from Dancing with the Stars. This led to him snapping and yelling at her quite often. Bella went on to reveal the details behind the incident, which occurred in late August when Chigvintsev went to jail. On the morning of the incident, the 42-year-old went off on his wife for making their son a picky eater.
The former WWE Superstar became overwhelmed after her husband started screaming at her. In response, she threw her son’s toddler-sized shoe at him. This led to Artem Chigvintsev grabbing Matteo and running upstairs while the little boy screamed for his mother.
As she tried to get into the room, the Russian tackled her to the ground and held her arms down. After Bella finally got up and entered the room, her ex-husband pushed her, and she fell onto the floor in their bathroom.
He pressed his hands against her chest, which made Bella feel like she was suffocating. In return, she tried to grab at his neck to get him off her. This eventually led to the police arriving at the scene, and Matteo told them that his father had hurt his hand.

Nikki Bella said that Artem Chigvintsev had also been violent on one prior occasion in mid-2023. Furthermore, there were numerous instances of verbal abuse. These incidents made the former WWE Superstar decide that she did not want her son to grow up in an abusive environment like she did. Thus, she eventually decided to file for divorce.
The judge granted the restraining order, prohibiting Chigvintsev from coming within a hundred yards of his ex-wife, their son, or their home. He is still allowed visitation and exchange of the child per court-ordered visit.
Nikki Bella also requested to leave the country with her son as she wanted to go to London for a film project. However, this request was denied until a full hearing is held on October 21st.
