Nikola Jokic gives advice to Kawhi Leonard as rival overcomes hate: “Not give a damn”
Nuggets star Nikola Jokic had immense words for his rival Kawhi Leonard after his impressive Game 3 performance.

Nikola Jokic and Kawhi Leonard
With Kawhi Leonard locked in, the Los Angeles Clippers are beginning to appear like real contenders. Leonard dominated the Denver Nuggets on both sides of the court in Game 3, leaving the 2023 NBA champions with few options. However, many people don’t think Leonard receives the limelight he deserves despite his heroics during the postseason.
It’s safe to say that his opponent and the Nuggets star Nikola Jokic think otherwise. During the Game 3 post-match presser, Jokic was asked many questions by the reporters regarding Leonard’s performance. Jokic didn’t think twice since he understood Leonard’s style of play and his capacity to let it speak for itself.
The message from the reigning MVP was straightforward: Kawhi Leonard may not seek attention, but his influence cannot be denied.
He’s not supposed to care what other people think about him. He’s a champion, he’s a special player. He’s definitely a unique player. If I’m in his skin, I would definitely not give a damn.

Leonard is known for his insane ability in the playoffs, carrying teams to the NBA finals single-handedly in his career. The Clippers fans will be hoping Leonard does it once again for their side. So far, he is locked in on this playoff series.
He is the Clippers’ go-to player and is scoring 27.3 points per game on average in this series. Leonard appears a lot like the ‘Leonard of his heyday’, completely fit and in perfect health. He is a master at generating space, a lethal mid-range shooter, and a slick three-point shooter.
His efficient field goal percentage has risen to an incredible 68.6% thanks to his movements, endurance, and shot selection. Leonard will be an important player for the Clippers if they were to secure the NBA title this season.
Kawhi Leonard makes an important announcement after Game 3 win
The Clippers-Nuggets Game 3 win was all about their star man, Kawhi Leonard, who shone at the Intuit Dome. While Leonard made waves on the court with his performance, he also made an important statement off the court. The 33-year-old raved about his sides’ defensive chemistry on the court. He also gave special props to teammate Kris Dunn.
There’s guys on the floor that want to guard. They’re just not just pointing at me asking to guard… they motivate me defensively. Especially, Kris Dunn.

Leonard’s offensive score of 129 and defensive ratings of 105 are comparable to those of a video game. The only option left to the Nuggets is to quickly find out how they can slow him down, because if they are unable to contain him on Saturday, Leonard may finally receive the respect he has long earned, and the Clippers may be leaving Game 4 with a decisive lead.
Norman Powell makes his feelings clear on Kawhi Leonard after Game 3 win
Another star who was at his best against the Nuggets was Norman Powell. He scored 20 points in 29 minutes on 7 of 12 shots, including 3 of 8 from beyond the arc, for his most comprehensive postseason showing to date. Notably, Powell also hopped on the Leonard praise bandwagon after the game, stating his thoughts towards the Clippers star.
I admire his mental fortitude and toughness through it all. He’s never too high, never too low. I try to emulate that mental toughness from him.

One thing is sure: Leonard is inspiring his teammates with his mentality and approach towards the game. Powell’s performance on the home court is a clear example of that. Now, the Clippers will be looking to take a bigger advantage going into game 4 of this matchup at the Intuit Dome.
