The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets 115-70 with a 45-point blowout in Game 7. Particularly, the Nuggets’ star player Nikola Jokic was not at his flying best at the Target Center. He dropped 22 points on the Timberwolves, which, as per his standards, is quite low.
Nonetheless, even after being on the losing side, Jokic did not seem too upset. Instead, he was looking on the bright side of the loss and accepted the defeat gracefully in the post-match press conference. He also claimed that the Timberwolves were better in every segment of the game on Thursday.
They beat our a**. They were better than us in every segment of the game. We need to accept it. Take it and just try to be better next time. When you lose by 45, it’s not something that happens every day. Just accept it, you know. I'm cool with it.Nikola Jokic said
On the other hand, the All-Star guard Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 27 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in just 34 minutes of play. He also shot 8/17 from the field and 4/9 from three points.
Nikola Jokic made NBA history in Game 6 loss to Timberwolves
Being on the winning side or on the losing side, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets seems to be making headlines, anyway. In the Game 6 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jokic achieved yet another historic feat in the NBA.
By passing Sam Cassell (592) for 46th place on the all-time number of postseason assists, Jokic created NBA history. The next player Jokic will pass after Cassell is Hall of Famer Julius Erving (594).
Jokic has been an immense player for the Nuggets throughout the years, and his recent performances are a clear example of the mentality and hard work he puts into the sport. With the Timberwolves forcing Game 7, the Denver Nuggets and Jokic will be focused enough to get the job done on their home turf in Denver.
