“I was tripping…” Nikola Jokic makes ex-player eat own words after masterclass performance
Former NBA player Lou Williams shared an intruging take on Nuggets star man Nikola Jokic after his recent matchup vs the Thunder.
Lou Williams and Nikola Jokic
Lou Williams is a man who isn’t scared to own up to his mistakes. The former Sixth Man of the Year claimed that Karl-Anthony Towns was more talented than Nikola Jokic on the Run it Back show alongside Chandler Parsons. Regarding this, he quickly admitted his fault and recently changed his stance on the show’s latest segment.
Jokic has won multiple accolades, including multiple NBA MVP awards. Recently, Jokic dropped a masterclass of a performance on the Oklahoma City Thunder. With this win, Jokic and his Denver Nuggets side defeated the undefeated Thunder side. Williams was quick to praise the Nuggets star man. He made amends regarding his previous take involving KAT and Jokic.
To begin the season, Jokic has averaged 28.8 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 11.0 assists per game, all greater than his previous MVP performances. So far, others have yet to step up alongside the ‘Joker.’ The Nuggets haven’t had their best start this year, which includes a heartbreaking loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Due to the lack of depth and the injuries suffered by Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray, Jokic has had to step up a bit this season. However, he had abundant help from his teammates in the game against the Thunder. Michael Porter Jr., Russell Westbrook, and Christian Braun did their parts to help the three-time MVP carry the load.
Nikola Jokic makes NBA history during matchup vs Thunder
Nikola Jokic has been one of the most consistent players in the NBA. In addition, he has also broken numerous records in the leagues on multiple occasions. Regarding this, Jokic dropped a remarkable statistical performance on Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This allowed the Denver Nuggets to secure their fifth victory of the season, thereby joining an elite group.
Jokic recorded his third triple-double of the season with an outstanding stat line of 23 points, 20 rebounds, and 16 assists. He became one of just two players in the previous 40 seasons to record a stat line of 20+ points, 20+ rebounds, and 15+ assists with that effort.

28.8 PPG (5th)
13.5 RPG (1st)
11.0 APG (1st)

Jokic has been playing at his best since the 2024-25 NBA season began. However, injuries to his side’s star players have put more pressure on the Joker to deliver match-winning performances regularly. Another Nuggets star, Russell Westbrook, is proving his value to the Nuggets. He has performed well alongside Jokic. The Nuggets fans will be hoping the duo combine well throughout the 2024-25 NBA season.
