Team Serbia’s head coach Svetislav Pesic went all out at the referees during his side’s matchup against Team USA in the semi-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics, which resulted in a poor loss to his side on Thursday. Serbia threw away a 17-point lead as Team USA came back to produce one of the most memorable comebacks in Olympic basketball history in the 4th quarter against Nikola Jokic and Co.
After the matchup, Coach Pesic claimed to the reporters that his star players Jokic and Bogdan Bogdanovic did not get proper calls from the referee regarding “free throws” in the match. Pesic also stated that his side was not “respected” by the referees, calling them strange regarding their free throw calls towards Team USA. However, LeBron James had just two free throw calls more than Jokic which baffled the basketball community regarding Coach Pesic’s take.

However, one fan reminded Coach Pesic regarding Team Serbia’s quarter-final matchup as he wrote on X, “Same thing happened in serbias favour during quarter final?? Karma.”
On the other hand, Team USA was on fire in the 4th quarter against Team Serbia as their star players James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant stepped up in the need of the hour. Curry scored a monstrous 36 points as he led his teammates on the scoring chart. It remains to be seen how Team USA will perform in the Gold medal matchup against Team France in the coming days at the Paris Olympics.
Fans give Nikola Jokic and his head coach a reality check regarding complaint after losing
Nikola Jokic and his side, Team Serbia, were on the cusp of winning against Team USA in the semi-finals of the Paris Olympics before they bottled a 13-point lead in the 4th quarter. However, Team Serbia head coach Svetislav Pesic criticized the referees of the match for his side’s poor loss against Team USA.
This did not go down well with the USA fans as they gave him a reality check on social media. Many fans took to various social media platforms to put forward their opinions and thoughts regarding Coach Pesic’s take on the referees.
Serbia executed an outstanding game plan and hit numerous shots, including 15 three-pointers. Nikola Jokic, the three-time NBA MVP, had 17 points and 11 assists, while Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 20. Unfortunately, this was not enough to secure a win against Team USA and their star-studded players in the semi-finals of the Paris Olympics
