IPL 2021: Nitish Rana begins training for Kolkata Knight Riders; asks everyone to take precautions against COVID-19
Nitish Rana
Nitish Rana who tested positive for COVID-19 upon entering his side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bubble before returning two subsequent negative tests has now resumed training for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The batsman and part-time spin bowler had entered the team’s bubble with a negative report on the 19th of March, but then a test on the 22nd revealed a positive test.
After getting isolated, Rana then gave a test on the 1st of April that returned a negative result before another test also returned negative. The batsman would now look to get back in form ahead of the IPL for KKR that begins with a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on the 11th of April. Having narrowly missed out on the playoffs last year, the side would want to come up with a much better showing.

Nitish Rana has now returned to training and in a video posted by the KKR side’s official handle, he said, “Obviously wasn’t expecting the tests to come positive. I had taken all sorts of precautions but despite that, I contracted COVID-19. The protocols that I had to follow, the BCCI guidelines, I followed each and everything.”
“Finally I am out now, and I am feeling absolutely fine. It was Day 1 for me, I batted a bit as well too. I am happy I could join my KKR teammates. This is a message for all of you. Please take precautions (against the virus). And don’t take this lightly. Because you never know how this can affect our body. So please take care of yourself,” Nitish Rana added.
KKR captioned the video, “Nitish Rana joined his teammates last evening, after two consecutive negative results for Covid-19. Having just beaten the virus, he urged everyone to stay safe and take all necessary precautions against Corona virus.”
