This year’s U.S Open champion, Dominic Thiem got his revenge against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the 2020 Nitto ATP Finals. The Austrian emerged victorious over the defending champion at the O2 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-3.

While Thiem doesn’t consider himself favourite to win the tournament, he believes that he can win any match. Further, this win allowed him to get a foothold in London. However, amongst the all-time greats, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, Thiem isn’t boastful about any single player’s chances to win, including himself.

In his post-match press conference, Domi reflected on the stellar line-up of these top ranked players. Moreover, the 27-year-old added that “every single one of the eight players can win every match here. Every match is pretty much 50-50. The one who has a better day and is a bit more lucky is going to win. I couldn’t do any predictions at all.”

He added that if anyone of the 8 had an edge were the World No.1 and 2, Novak and Rafa because of “all they have achieved and what they are.” Thiem deemed the legends “a little bit above the other six.”

Thiem has a 1-0 lead in Group London and will aim to solidify this in his coming clashes.
