With his 13th Roland Garros title win last month, Rafa levelled up with Roger Federer to become the only other man to have won 20 Grand Slam titles.

Last year’s winner, Stefanos Tsitsipas and the runner-up Dominic Thiem have also been confirmed to contend in the showdown in London. While Tsitsipas reached his maiden semi-final of the French Open, Thiem etched his name in history after becoming a Grand Slam champion with his U.S Open 2020 win.

Former holder of this title, Alexander Zverev will also take part in this championship. The German realed in his most successful results at Grand Slam events when he advanced to the Australian Open semi-final and the final of the U.S Open.

First-Timers and Medvedev’s Comeback

Andrey Rublev, Diego Schwartzman

Within this crop of fine players, Andrey Rublev and Diego Schwartzman are set to appear for the first time in the O2 Stadium. Rublev has had a giant year. Many have deemed him as ‘Player of the Year.’ The Russian has edged past Djokovic to win the most number of titles in 2020. Schwartzman produced his best Grand Slam result this year after he reached the semi-final of the French Open after downing Thiem in a 5 set-thriller.

Despite not having close to the success he had in 2019, Daniil Medvedev has still qualified for the ATP Finals. Medvedev seems to have gotten his stride back as he is set to appear in the Paris Masters semi-final later today.

This final showdown is en route to be a banger. With the sheer will and desire that these players have to win, tennis will surely have one of its finest weeks in the coming month.
