Anthony Davis reveals admiration for LeBron James and Stephen Curry
The biggest NBA game of the year is all set to kick off on a blockbuster Saturday night. LeBron James versus Stephen Curry – the greatest rivals in modern NBA history are ready to take on each other once again as the Lakers take on the Warriors for the second time this season on the final day of NBA Rivals Week. Perhaps the most pivotal player in the game is fellow Lakers star Anthony Davis.
The Lakers big man recently sat down with ESPN Insider Shams Charania, where the two discussed the upcoming matchup between the Western Conference Rivals. Anthony Davis revealed his admiration towards James and Curry, especially for the durability that the two aging stars have shown, even as they continue to put up nail-biting matchups every time they face off.

Davis, of course, would know better than anyone the feeling of watching the two transcendental stars go head to head. Ever since being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019, Davis has seen LeBron James and Stephen Curry battle it out in a playoff series, a play-in game and multiple thrilling regular season matchups, including their record-setting Christmas Day game earlier this season.
As James, 40 and Curry, 36, prepare to face off once again, Anthony Davis knows that he will not take the opportunity to watch two of the greatest stars of all time go head to head for granted, especially after seeing the two up close as Olympic teammates over the past summer.
What is LeBron James and Stephen Curry’s head-to-head record?
Since LeBron James and Stephen Curry entered the league, they have put together a number of unforgettable matchups against each other. From Curry’s first championship run in 2015 to the iconic Game 7 of the NBA Finals in 2016, some of the most iconic games in recent memory have featured the two defining stars of this era face off. But that begs the question – what is the head-to-head record between the two?
Since Curry was drafted in 2009, he and James have faced off against each other 24 times in the regular season with a dead even 12-12 record. As for the playoffs, Curry takes the cake with a 17-12 record against James, largely due to the years of NBA Finals matchups between the two. Curry has won 3 of their 5 series played against each other.
However, while Stephen Curry might hold the edge over LeBron James in their overall record, James has had Curry’s number ever since donning the purple and gold in 2018. In the 7 years since joining the Lakers, James has a 10-8 record over Curry, narrowly edging out the Golden State star on a number of occasions. Saturday’s game offers both stars the opportunity to own a deciding say in their overall regular season battles.
