Earlier today, Kohli was awarded with the ICC Cricketer of the Decade award and the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Decade Award. Reacting to the same, the batting ace spoke to ICC about his journey through the decade, his favorite knocks and memories, his mindset while playing every game for his country and so on. Now, the 32-year-old has taken to Twitter to share a message of thanks for each and every person who stood by him.
Kohli shares 10-year-old tweet
Following the announcement of the ICC decade-end awards, Virat Kohli shared a tweet that he made on March 16, 2010 when he was a newcomer in the Indian national team. The tweet read, “Looking forward to scoring lots of runs for my Team.” Along with the same, Kohli also shared a message of thanks signed by him.
The message read, “I would like to thank my family, my coach, my friends and all the people who have stood by me through this decade and the BCCI for giving me the opportunity to represent my country which has been a great honor for me to do so over all these years. I would like to thank the ICC for this recognition and all the people who voted for me at the ICC Awards of the Decade.
Sharing this tweet I put out 10 years ago, which was a hopeful one, I’ve realized through this journey that if you believe in yourself and play sport for the right reasons, no dream is too big to achieve. Regardless of the challenges and obstacles, you will keep moving forward with this belief and see your dreams turn into reality. Thank you once again.”
