“No I am not fighting,” Joanna Jedrzejczyk reveals she isn’t fighting in April against Yan Xiaonan
The number two ranked UFC strawweight fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk is recently reported to come back inside the Octagon in a fight against the number three ranked strawweight fighter Yan Xiaonan.
According to sources, the promotion is targeting the main event between both these fighters in Singapore. Joanna last fought against the champion Weili Zhang in five rounds of a bizarre fight.
Both of these fighters produced one of the greatest UFC fights of all time and even won the UFC Fight of the year 2020 award. The fight was so brutal that both of them got admitted to the hospital immediately after that.
Recently the former champion Rose Namajunas also announced that he is coming back and she is next in the line for a title shot. That’s why the fight between Xiaonan and Joanna is booked for the next shot at the title.
Xiaonan is on a 6 fight win streak but Joanna wants to fight only for the title. In one of his interviews, she made it clear that she will only fight when UFC will increase her paycheck or when she’ll get title shot.
Ending the speculations of her fight with Yan Xiaonan, in her Instagram question and answer session, Joanna says, “Cheers for the upcoming fight… No, I am not fighting.”
Joanna has no plans for retirement
After the fight with Weili Zhang, Joanna didn’t want to compete for a while due to which many people thought she made up her mind about retirement. However recently she confirmed she has no plans of hanging the gloves so soon.
Joanna says, “I will be fighting. I can’t stop. I won’t stop. I was thinking, ‘Maybe I’ll do one, two, three more fights,’ but why not fight every year? Even if I do it once a year or twice a year, why not do it? I love it. It doesn’t matter if I keep winning or losing or keep fighting for the title or not, I just love it,”
“Being the champ again is my goal though. I just want to give big fights to the fans, to the people, because I know my value is very big. I just want people to see that we can never stop, that we can’t give up, that we should fight for our goals and dreams.”
