Manchester City star Julian Alvarez will return back into action for the Argentinean national team, just days after featuring at the 2024 Copa America. The 24-year-old forward has joined the team’s training for the Paris Olympics without taking any break.

Julian Alvarez has had a dream start to his footballing career, becoming one of the very few players to win the FIFA World Cup, the UCL and the Premier League before the age of 25. He also made history as the first player to win the World Cup and a continental treble in the same season. He helped Argentina win their 16th Copa America title, while making five starts and netting two goals, throughout the tournament.

The 24-year-old forward has now traveled to Paris, to link up with the national team ahead of the much anticipated 2024 Olympics, making it a busy football summer for the player. The Manchester City star will not be joining the Cityzens on their 2024-25 pre-season tour in the USA. With regulations permitting only three players over the age of 23 in the Olympic football tournament, Alvarez is one of the overage players, along with Nicolas Otamendi and Geronimo Rulli.

Manchester City set Julian Alvarez asking price, amid recent transfer interest

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid is rumored to be keen on signing the 24-year-old forward from Manchester City. The Argentine striker is open to the move, but City’s high asking price of €70 million plus €20 million in add-ons could pose a significant hurdle. The Rojiblancos have instead, decided to pursue Girona’s Artem Dovbyk, who has a lower price tag of €40 million.

In addition to the La Liga side, EPL rivals Chelsea are also interested in signing the former River Plate star, hoping to replicate the success they had with Cole Palmer.
