Seems like the Olympic Games pressure has failed to humble Noah Lyles’ spirit ahead of his 100 and 200 relay races. The American track and field athlete once again drew the ire of fans by doubling down on the claim of “the fastest man in the world.”

Many stated that the title “fastest man in the world” belongs to legendary sprinter Usain Bolt and not to the 27-year-old. The controversy regarding the title is not a new topic, as he claimed to be the fastest in the past too.

The video gained nearly 10 million views as fans argued how true his claim was. During a press conference on Monday morning, the athlete noted that he was not wrong to claim the title as it is given to the Olympic champion and the World Champion “which I am one of”.

It’s me. It’s always going to be me.

Noah Lyles confidently noted that although he is missing one title, he’ll soon be adding “another one of” them during the Paris Olympic Games. Lyles’ confidence and personality have charmed many while he also made enemies of Usain Bolt’s fans.

He said that this time the Olympics will be different as he’s feeling really good ahead of the competitions. Lyles is currently the reigning champion of the 100 and 200 races. He also won the U.S. Olympic Trials with extraordinary results.

I’m excited…the last Olympics didn’t go according to plan. There were a lot of ups and downs. I can finally say I’m showing up for an Olympic Games not depressed. It feels amazing.

Lyles said that this year it’ll be better and “I’m ready to show it.” Fans will also keep a watch out to see if he really can snatch a medal to prove he is truly the “fastest man in the world.”
