Tyreek Hill is catching strays even if he doesn’t want to. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver recently picked a fight with Olympic gold medalist sprinter Noah Lyles, and ever since then, he has kept taunting the Hill.

A video emerged on X (previously known as Twitter) on Sunday, in which Lyles is answering some questions from a card in his hand. One of them asked him if he knew a celebrity who was a fast sprinter.

After reading the question, Lyles began to stall and think as if he was acquainted with an individual with similar attributes but acted like he couldn’t remember their name. The ironic part of the clip was that he took Tyreek Hill’s nickname, but not his original one.

Gosh! I always forget his name. The football player. The one that thinks he is fast, the Cheetah something.

Lyles eventually managed to remember the Super Bowl winner’s name, but it was clear that he was pulling Hill’s leg.

The beef between Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles

It all started after Tyreek Hill claimed he was faster than Lyles after the US sprinter came first in the 100-meter race at the Paris Olympics earlier this year. Hill, being the fastest football player in the NFL, always harbors a feeling that he can take on and defeat any fast runner, even if they run for a living.

Lyles heard about it, and while appearing on Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe’s Night Cap podcast, the 27-year-old, similar to the viral video clip, said he did not know who Tyreek Hill was. Sharp and co-host Chad Johnson had to make him familiar with the 8-time Pro Bowler.

Sharp and Johnson eventually managed to convince Lyles that he should race Hill and end the debate about who was faster between them. However, Lyles went slightly overboard with his statement.

We can race. If he's serious about it, if he is truly serious about it and not just talking on the internet and you ain’t actually coming to me and talking to my agent to set something up... if you're serious about it, you'll see me on the track.

Hill responded a day later with a cryptic on social media agreeing to the race. They haven’t announced a date yet, but the 2024 regular season is just days away and he wouldn’t want to risk having an injury, especially after signing a new contract. So they might have to wait until the season wraps up in February.
