Noah Lyles claims to not know Nikola Jokic continuing to stir NBA beef

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has certainly left his mark in the NBA as one of the most dominant centers in the league. Jokic has played a crucial role in the success of the Nuggets in recent years.
US track and field superstar Noah Lyles has become infamous among the basketball world in recent months. Lyles gained widespread attention for his comments criticizing NBA champions who refer to themselves as world champions. These remarks caused backlash within the basketball community, leading Lyles to become a target of NBA fans. Despite this, Noah Lyles has not backed down from the controversy and is currently engaging in feuds with several NBA stars, most notably Josh Hart.
Recently, Lyles appeared as a guest on the ‘NightCap’ podcast. The podcast host brought up Lyles’ comments from last summer. Lyles stood firm on his claims that NBA champions should not be called world champions. When Shannon Sharpe asked Lyles about NBA’s top international stars, Lyles admitted being aware of Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounnmpo, but claimed to not know the MVP Nikola Jokic.

It was surprising that he didn’t know about Jokic as he had originally made his infamous comments last year after the Denver Nuggets won the championship defeating the Miami Heat.
Both Jokic and Lyles participated in the Paris Olympics this year. Jokic represented Serbia and even won the bronze medal in men’s basketball. With Lyles’ recent comments on Jokic, he will certainly be facing a great deal of backlash from the Nuggets fans.

Noah Lyles made headlines last summer with his comments over NBA champions calling themselves world champions. Since then many NBA stars have fired shots at him through their social media.
During his latest appearance on the NightCap podcast, Lyles discussed the comments he had made the previous summer. He stated that he made those comments because the NBA champions were calling themselves world champions without even facing the world.

Lyles’ comments were one of the reasons that reportedly motivated the sacked Team USA for the 2024 Olympics. USA eventually went on to win the gold medal and earned the title of world champions.
