Noah Lyles is currently the world’s fastest man after winning the 100-meter race at the Paris Olympics. In spite of his victory, he soon came under heavy criticism from people.

During one such tweet where a troll dragged him, NBA star Josh Hart quickly jumped in to show support for Lyles. In that exchange on X, a user criticized the athlete.

However, Hart then rallied behind Lyles and replied to the user.

However, despite the props from Josh Hart, it appears the runner took it the wrong way. In a recent interview with GQ Sports, Noah Lyles talked about Covid-19, Adidas shoes and much more. Following that, he read some tweets on X from critics and responded to them. That was the moment he took a dig at the Knicks player after reading his tweet. Lyles said:

If y'all have to say, oh you got me, but you won't get me next time, I already won.

Right after that, he was asked if he knew who Hart was. He responded to the interviewers, affirming he does not. Noah Lyles was then told the basketball star played for the New York Knicks.

The sprinter had collapsed during the 200-meter race at the 2024 Olympics, gasping for breath after winning bronze. When getting checked by medics, the 27-year-old revealed that he had proceeded with the race despite his asthma condition.

Josh Hart initially hated on Noah Lyles during Olympic Games

In a recent episode of The Roommates Show, Josh Hart revealed to Knicks teammate Jalen Brunson, that he had wanted Noah Lyles to lose. The 29-year-old stated that while he was cheering all the way for Team USA, he was really hating on the sprinter.

I really wanted him to lose. Damn, I wanted him to lose boy. I think that was the first time all of NBA twitter like banded together. I was just hating and I was just like, damn you know what? Respect, I can't even hate anymore.

As stated by Hart, it was the first time the whole basketball clique came together against Lyles. It seems the hate directed at the track athlete is likely because of comments he made about the NBA last year. At the time, he criticized the use of the term “World Champions” by NBA players. Nonetheless, by the end of the Olympics, the New York Knicks star just couldn’t keep hating Lyles anymore.
