Nodwin Gaming partners with PVR to live stream gaming tournaments in theatres

Gaming enthusiasts in the country are in for a treat as South India’s leading eSports organization Nodwin Gaming has announced partnership with PVR Cinemas to bring eSports in the big screens.
Over the recent years, eSports has been growing as a popular phenomenon rapidly among the millennials. Many youngsters are discovering their hidden talents in gaming simultaneously battling with the pandemic. Ever since the announcement of Battlegrounds Mobile India, the Indian rebrand of PUBG Mobile, organizations are putting up efforts to increase the growth of eSports industry.
Nodwin Gaming ties up with PVR Cinemas to bring eSports in cinemas

It is rightly said that Nodwin Gaming, acquired by Nazara Technologies is one of the most successful eSports organization in South East Asia. The organization is taking big steps to inspire the youth to take up gaming as a career. In India, eSports is becoming a blooming industry and Nodwin Gaming has played a great role in it. Apparently, it is the first Indian startup to raise 164 crore funding from Krafton Inc.

In a recent announcement, Nodwin Gaming has tied up with PVR cinemas. The result of this partnership is that gaming tournaments will be live streamed in select theatres. It is a first of its kind initiative which will commence with Battlegrounds Mobile India, a battle-royale game developed by Krafton Inc. for Android and iOS users. Later on, more games will be added in theatres.

Akshat Rathee, managing director and co-founder of Nodwin Gaming said, “the partnership will allow the company to give its audience a premium watching experience for e-sports. The company has the ability to stream events, having streamed football and cricketing events in the past. However, e-sports events will be accompanied by commentary, graphics, trivia and more, which are being handled by Nodwin Gaming.”
“We want to grow this property on similar lines as the IPL. Think of this as the IPL of e-sports in the country. And think of theatres as the venues, akin to stadiums, for the games to be played, said Kamal Gianchandani, chief of strategy, PVR Limited.
PVR Cinemas is the largest multiplex operator in India, the addition of eSports in the big screens will drastically increase the footfall every year. Not only that, it will also provide a boost to the competitive world of eSports. Gamers are rejoiced with this announcement and are looking forward for this pilot project.
