In the last few days, the name of Nolan Arenado has surged up. The 8-time MLB All-Star is exploring a move away from the St. Louis Cardinals. As per reports, he has now given the green light to six teams across the league.
Arenado joined the Cardinals in 2021 after making a name for himself with the Colorado Rockies. He joined the Cardinals with the hopes of having a deep postseason run with them. Unfortunately for him, that has not been the case yet.
In his four seasons with the team, the Cardinals have missed the postseason on two occasions. On the other two occasions where they made it to the playoffs, they suffered an early elimination, thus crushing the dream of Arenado.
The 10-time Gold Glove winner still has three years left on his contract. The Cardinals also owe him a sum of $74 million. While Arenado has a no-trade clause in his contract, he is reported to be ready to waive it.

According to John Denton of MLB.com, the 33-year-old has the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, and the Los Angeles Angels on his trade wish list. As per his agent Joel Wolfe, Arenado is open to switching positions from third base to first baseman. This could be a big perk for teams if they enter the trade talks for him in the future.
Nolan Arenado reportedly deemed ‘not a fit’ for New York Yankees
Recently there had been reports that the New York Yankees had expressed interest in trading for Nolan Arenado. After losing out on Juan Soto to the Mets, the Bronx Bombers are looking to fill the gap that has now been left with Soto’s departure. However, the team has now reportedly deemed him as “not a fit” for them.

As per YES Network insider Jack Curry, Nolan Arenado is not one of the options the team is exploring now. The insider claimed that the team thinks there are better options than Arenado at the moment.
The answer that I was given was they have a lot of respect for the player that he has been and the player that he still is. But now, at this moment, not a fit. It is not somebody that they are out there seeking. I think at that price tag and at who he was last year, the Yankees absolutely believe there are better options.
