Cole Palmer, often referred to by his fans on social media as ‘Cold’ Palmer, is easily Chelsea’s best player at the moment. The former Manchester City man has turned into a beast under new manager Ezno Maresca, and has scored 6 goals and set up another five in just seven Premier League games. However, the player was unable to steer his side to victory in their last outing against Nottingham Forest.

Noni Madueke grabbed the equalizer, which saw the game end 1-1. However, the ‘biggest’ moment of the game came late in the second half when both sets of players got into a massive brawl. To the surprise of many, Palmer did not get involved in the altercation and was seen unbothered throughout the incident. Fans laughed at how the Englishman was too ‘stupid’ to not feel pressure and minded his own business.

Palmer is a very different player. The type that doesn’t feel pressure in the most pressurized situations. I admire that about him.

He also stated that the sky is the limit for his teammate and backed him to do well for England.

Lee Carsley jokes about Cole Palmer’s ‘new’ position

Social media broke into laughter when interim England boss Lee Carsley stated that Cole Palmer‘s best position may be at left-back. However, as the international break kicks off, the manager had doubled back to ‘correct’ his claims. Following his electric form for Chelsea, fans are convinced that the player will be utilized in a primary role in games to come.

England have games lined up against Greece and Finland in the coming days. Palmer was also awarded the England Men’s Player of the Year award even though he did not start a single game at the Euros. When quizzed about the player’s versatility and ability to fill in at various positions, manager Carsley did not give too much room for speculation.

Yeah, probably not left back (best position). He’s been in brilliant form and hopefully he can carry that on to this week.

There is still talk about Carsley being appointed permanently, although several fans are demanding Pep Guardiola as the team’s new boss. As things stand, England are second to Greece in Group 2 of League B.
