“Not as long as I’m the head coach,” Mike Vrabel makes massive statement on A.J. Brown’s future at the Titans

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel has finally passed the verdict on A.J. Brown’s future. The wide receiver has been found himself in the crosshairs ever since the start of the offseason.

The Titans have made their intentions clear that they are not interested in trading him off to other franchises despite interest from them. However, Titans General Manager Jon Robinson last week said at the owners meetings that the team has not received calls about receiver A.J. Brown.

Mike Vrabel will not allow Brown to leave the franchise as long as he’s the head coach

Mike Vrabel made an appearance on the Rich Eisen show, as he said that he has no intentions of letting A.J. Brown leave this season. The coach spoke highly of the player and has gotten to know him a lot better.

“Not as long as I’m the head coach,” Vrabel said. “I love A.J. professionally, personally. I’ve gotten to know him well as his coach and enjoy seeing him as much as I possibly can. Saw him here working out here earlier, said hi. As long as I’m the head coach here, I would want to have A.J. Brown on my football team.”

Brown had another strong year in 2021 after finishing with 869 yards and five touchdowns off of 63 receptions. The 24-year old was picked up by the Titans in the 2019 NFL draft, and has built a decent reputation so far.

Brown is all set to enter his final year of his contract, and looks all set to be headed towards free agency. According to Mike Vrabel’s comments, they should offer him a better contract in order to keep him at the franchise.
