‘Nothing Rich Paul could have…’ stopped LeBron James to team up with Stephen Curry at Warriors
Basketball legends LeBron James and Stephen Curry were the main point of discussion on the latest episode of the Gil's Arena Podcast.
LeBron James and Stephen Curry
Basketball legends LeBron James and Stephen Curry have been the main faces of the sport for the past decade. Recently, rumors were circulating that James joining the Golden State Warriors to play alongside Curry is a realistic possibility. However, as per new reports, James’ agent Rich Paul intervened and scuppered any chances of this wild trade taking place.
Interestingly, a few former NBA players did not believe the “Paul stopping James to Warriors Trade” viral report. Instead, they put forward their opinions regarding James and the Warriors on the Gilbert Arenas‘ Show. Notably, Kenyon Martin Sr. claimed that Paul could have done nothing if James wanted a move for the Warriors.
There's nothing that f***ing Rick Paul could have said or done, if Lebron James wake up tomorrow morning and be like 'you know what f**k this s**t I wanna go to the Golden State' its done.Kenyon Martin Sr. said via Gil’s Arena
It’s also important to note that neither Paul nor James has opened up on the recent James-to-Warriors report.
James is coming off a brilliant 2024 Paris Olympics, clinching the Gold medal for his nation as captain of his side. In addition, he was also named the Olympics MVP at the Paris Olympics. Now, James’ full focus will be on his NBA side, the Los Angeles Lakers, for the upcoming 2024 NBA season.
LeBron James’ honest assessment regarding Warriors star Stephen Curry
LeBron James and Stephen Curry have shared the basketball stage for over 15 years now and are still going at it with their respective sides in the NBA. Notably, James shared an honest assessment regarding Curry after the Lakers vs. Warriors game on the “Mind the Game” podcast, claiming Curry is “uncomfortable to guard.” Also, in that particular game, Curry finished with 23 points, including a perfect 6/6 from deep which made James give him his flowers on the podcast.
The ball is not the problem with Steph Curry. He's the f**king problem. Steph is most dangerous when he doesn't have the ball. It's not many guys in our league that's most dangerous without the ball... Guarding Steph is uncomfortable.LeBron James said
In addition, as James explained, Curry’s off-ball movement makes the Warriors extremely difficult to defend. This not only opens up possibilities for Curry but also for his teammates.
