Novak Djokovic played most of his matches against three opponents and won’t be facing anyone of them again in his career. Roger Federer retired in 2022 after the Laver Cup, and Andy Murray after the 2024 Paris Olympics. Rafael Nadal will wrap up his career after the Davis Cup in November.
Djokovic locked horns with Nadal for the very last time on Saturday (October 14). They played in the third-place match of the Six Kings Slam exhibition event in Riyadh, where Djokovic won in straight sets. The 37-year-old was all praise for his longtime rival after the match and also penned a heartfelt message for him on his social media.
Now that Nadal won’t be playing again, Djokovic reminisced about the time they clashed for the first time and how he would miss playing against him and against the other members of the Big 4, Federer and Murray. He called the Six Kings Slam match against Nadal a ‘special moment‘ for him that he will ‘remember for a long time‘.

Novak Djokovic still desires to win more Grand Slam trophies
Novak Djokovic last won a Grand Slam trophy in last year’s US Open. For the first time since 2017, he failed to win a Grand Slam title as Wimbledon was the only major event where he reached the summit clash this season.
Because of this, many think he is not hungry anymore to create more records. Djokovic, however, is of a different opinion as he doesn’t want to end his career without winning a few more major trophies.
Before the exhibition event in Riyadh, Djokovic participated in the Shanghai Masters. He secured a spot in the final but was defeated by World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in straight sets. The only title Djokovic won this season was the gold medal at the Paris Olympics.
