The recent travel restrictions are a big worry for the players. They never wish to miss out on better tournaments offering more cash prize and points solely due to inadequate planning. A 14 day isolation period is mandatory in some cities for people entering the border. Thus, players were eager to be acquainted with the travel rules as soon as possible.

The US Open will end on 13th September. Therefore, plenty of players would’ve missed the Italian Open if they had to be in quarantine. Thanks to the relaxation offered, now players can head to Italy and start their Clay court season.

“Prime Ministerial Decree on 7 August. According to Article 1, paragraph (i) of the decree, athletes coming from countries for which quarantine has been mandated will only need a swab of a negative COVID-19 test – not earlier than 48 hours after arrival in Italy – to participate in an event.” the documents read.
