Novak Djokovic took on the Wimbledon crowd on Monday after his fourth-round match against Holger Rune. An angry Djokovic had a few cold words to tell the crowd about the disrespectful behavior shown in the match.
Djokovic was up against Rune in the last match of the day. With a place in the quarterfinals at stake, both the players brought their best game forward. However, Djokovic had done his homework on Rune, and did not allow the Dane to creep back into the game. It was a straight-set victory for the 7-time Wimbledon champion, who is through to the quarterfinals.

As important as the match was, Djokovic’s on-court interview was the real deal. He had a lot to tell the disrespectful crowd present in the match and was furious at them. During the match, many people in the stands were cheering for Rune, and coincidently his name sounds like “Boo”. The sounds of boo echoed through the stadium, and while some may have been in support of Rune, Djokovic did not think so.
They were. There were. I don't accept it. No. I know they were cheering for Rune but that's an excuse to also boo. I've been on the tour for 20 years, I know all the tricks. I know how it works.Novak Djokovic said during his on-court interview
Djokovic usually addresses the crowd during the match and not so much afterward. However, this was the first time that he lost his cool and gave it to the crowd. Although they might have been cheering on Rune, according to Djokovic, it was a ruse to boo him.

Novak Djokovic pleased with his performance as he inches closer to an 8th Wimbledon title
Novak Djokovic dispatched Holger Rune in straight sets to secure his place in the quarterfinal of Wimbledon. He won an incredible 75% of his first service points and 72% of his second service points, to mark a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 win over Rune.

On my end, I think I did things the right way in the right moments. I stayed solid. I faced a couple of break points. Things could have looked different if I had dropped my service games but a very solid performance in the end and I am glad to get through in three sets.Novak Djokovic said in the on-court interview
Now, the Serbian is en route to equaling Roger Federer‘s record of eight Wimbledon titles. Currently, Djokovic claimed his spot for the second most Wimbledon quarterfinal appearances (15) and is only behind Federer (18). He will take on Alex de Minaur on Wednesday to try to seal his place in the semi-final.
