World No. 1 Novak Djokovic staged a great escape, surviving a scare from Lorenzo Musetti in the third round. In another late-night match, Djokovic nearly faced elimination but ultimately prevailed, keeping his fans on edge once again.

Both the players gave their best throughout the match. Although Djokovic won the first set, the Italian came back in dominant style to throw the Serbian on the back foot. By winning two continuous sets, Musetti placed himself in a good place to try to cause a major upset.

However, it was not meant to be as Djokovic tuned back into his old form and came back incredibly to force a fifth set at the 4-hour mark. After that, it was all Djokovic from there. He went into beast mode in the final set, proving just how much of a champion play he is. In a final bagel set, he beat Lorenzo Musetti to seal the match.

And it was a point in time where I couldn't find any solutions and I had to try and solve the conundrum of his game.

Basically, I didn't seem to be able to win against him. Everything that he was doing, he was succeeding in very high quality, less errors, so I was really in a tricky position. I wanted to thank you (the crowd).
 It was in the fourth set at 2-2, you gave me the energy and I became a new player. So thank you for your support at that moment in time.
Novak Djokovic said in the post-match interview

Djokovic won the match 7-5, 6(6)-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0. He was just unstoppable towards the end, once again proving to all the critics that he has the motivation to continue playing. With that win, the Serbian is now tied with Roger Federer for the most number of Grand Slam wins (369).

Novak Djokovic played one of the most intense matches on tour as he came back after losing two sets on the troth. With a lot at stake, the Serbian pulled off an important victory early morning. He won the game in great fashion and celebrated in style with the passionate fans who stayed back.

One of them was his wife Jelena Djokovic, who was his leading support there. His wife celebrated more than him, screaming her head off as he punched the air in happiness. Djokovic let out a roar in celebration on the court, and his wife in the stands. 

Indeed, it was a great win for the Serbian, who now moves up to the fourth round of the French Open and will play Francisco Cerundolo in another all-important match. As the draw gets tougher and tougher, Djokovic is starting to show signs of his best.
