Novak Djokovic‘s daughter Tara Djokovic held a cute sign for her dad during his final match against Carlos Alcaraz at the Paris Olympics on Sunday (August 4) on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
When the two players were fighting it out in the first set, the camera panned toward the Serb’s daughter, who held the board where the words in Serbian, “Tata je najbolji” were written on it. The words translate to “Dad is the best.” Djokovic’s ‘biggest’ supporter proudly showed the board to all while supporting her dad.

Earlier during Djokovic’s campaign, Tara also cheered for her dad with two Serbian flags. At Wimbledon last month, Djokovic did the violin celebrations for all his victories. He produced this celebration for the first time after his third-round win and later explained that it was for Tara who had been learning to play the instrument and so both decided that he celebrate his wins that way.
Tara Djokovic’s dad indeed was the ‘best’ during the final as he won the match to win his first Olympic gold medal. And after the victory, an emotional Djokovic kissed and hugged his daughter, the pictures and videos of which have been going viral on social media.
Novak Djokovic wins his first title of the season
Novak Djokovic was the oldest player in an Olympic tennis final and featured in it following a series of defeats earlier this year. Because of his mediocre performances, the tennis fraternity probably thought he would lose in the summit clash to Carlos Alcaraz, the winner of two Grand Slam trophies this season.
Djokovic was determined to not let go of the chance to win the gold in his possible last Olympics and won the battle against the 21-year-old with scores of 7-6(7-3), 7-6(7-2). The Serb also advanced to his first Olympic final after back-to-back elimination in the semifinals in his previous three appearances at the quadrennial tournament.
Before winning the gold, his only final this year was at the Wimbledon last month (which he lost to Alcaraz in straight sets). He did not win a single title, even lost an ATP 250 event.
Arguably the biggest success I had. I won probably everything there is to win in my individual career. Winning Davis Cup and particularly a golden medal at age 37 for Serbia is unprecedented. I’m just starting my celebration. I can’t wait for what’s coming up in the next 48 hours.Novak Djokovic said after the match
The young Spaniard, who was failing to control his tears after the heartbreaking defeat, will have at least three more chances to represent Spain in the Olympics. He also lost his doubles match in the quarterfinals he played with Rafael Nadal, who was eliminated in singles by Djokovic in the second round.
